Interested in a position with
the FBI
Career opportunities are
currently available for Special Agent and Support
positions.
To be considered for the
Special Agent position candidates must: |
|
- be a United States citizen
- be completely available for
assignment anywhere in the Bureau's jurisdiction
- have reached his/her 23rd but
not his/her 37th birthday
- possess a valid driver's license
- be in excellent physical condition
with no defects which would interfere in firearm use, raids,
or defensive tactics.

The four entrance programs under which Special Agents
qualify are:

1> |
Law- law school graduates with two
years of undergraduate work |
|
2> |
Accounting- graduate of a four-year
college or university with a degree in accounting or degree
in another discipline preferably economics, business or finance
with a major in accounting. |
|
3> |
Language- four year college degree
plus fluency in foreign language(s) for which the Bureau has
a current need. |
|
4> |
Diversified- four year college degree
plus three years' full-time work experience. |
The general qualifications
for a support (non-agent) positions are:
- a high school graduate or possess GED
- a United States citizen
- 16 years of age or older
You are automatically disqualified
if you:
- have a student loan currently in default
- have prior felony conviction
- are not in compliance with FBI drug guidelines;
1. have used marijuana within the
last three years or more than 15 times total in a lifetime
2. have used other illegal drugs
or combinations thereof within the past 10 years or more
than 5 years total.
