The FBI Safe Streets Task Force has arrested members of the "793 Bloods" set of the "Bloods" street gang on charges of distribution and possession of heroin and cocaine. This set, the 793 Bloods, is a newly formed Bloods set It originated as a 93 Bloods set. The 793 Bloods was formed early in 2007. The Bloods street gang is one of the largest gangs in the U.S. The 793 Bloods is an organization whose leaders authorize and direct its members to commit acts of violence and intimidation in order to assert and maintain control over drug territories in Essex County , specifically in Newark between South 11th Street to South 20th Street and from Avon Avenue to Madison Avenue. The arrest made over the past twenty four hours are the most recent results of a multi-year investigation. Sixteen previous arrests have been made within the past two years during this investigation. The previous arrests were also on drug related charges as well as weapons and armed robbery charges. To date a total of 23 gang members have been arrested. Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
The current subjects have been arrested after an extensive investigation which relied heavily on the use of controlled drug purchases, court authorized wire-taps and confidential sources. The arrests during the past twenty four hours were executed by more than of 75 FBI Agents and Police Officers. Still at large are Alshatee Green, Aquil Horne and Ernest Riggins. Please review the attached "wanted" flyer with details on each of these fugitives. A cash reward is offered for information leading to the capture of these men. The dedication and sharp police work of the leaders, agents, officers and prosecutors assigned to the Safe Streets Task Force has disallowed this violent street gang to possess the streets of our community. Office, East Orange Police Department, Additionally, the Task Force was provided with assistance and intelligence sharing from the New Jersey State Police and the New Jersey Department of Probation and Parole. Our combined efforts are having a positive impact to deter violent felons and drug dealers from possessing our neighborhoods. He also praised the fine working relationships enjoyed among the involved agencies.
