COUPLE CHARGED WITH BANK
ROBBERY
EDISON,
NJ – Malik
Dillard, 25, of Georgia, is being charged with the robbery of PNC
Bank, located at 505 Thornall Road in Edison, New Jersey. The robbery
occurred at approximately 1:22 p.m. on July 21, 2008 when Dillard
jumped over the counter and demanded money from tellers. No weapon
was used and no one was injured. Dillard stole an undisclosed amount
of money and fled the scene in a vehicle which was later stopped
by law enforcement on the New Jersey Turnpike near the George Washington
Bridge. Also in the car was Ciara Moore, 25, of the Bronx, New
York. Both subjects were arrested.
Dillard is
facing Federal bank robbery charges. Moore is being charged by
the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office with conspiracy
to commit robbery.
An initial appearance is scheduled for Dillard on this matter at
2:15 p.m., July 24, 2008 before Honorable Michael A. Shipp, United
States Magistrate Judge. Dillard is also wanted in connection with
several other robberies along the East Coast.
A criminal complaint is merely an accusation. Despite this accusation,
every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty
beyond a reasonable doubt.

their assistance in this matter.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney
Doug Herring of the Criminal Division in Newark.
